JIMMY TAMBORELLO / Dntel
Jimmy Tamborello has been making and releasing electronic music for over 20 years. He has been working under the Dntel moniker since 1994, releasing records on Sub Pop, Plug Research, Pampa, and Leaving, among others. Through his work with Dntel he met up with Ben Gibbard from Death Cab For Cutie in 2001 and they formed The Postal Service, whose 2003 Sub Pop release "Give Up" went on to sell over a million copies. He has done remixes for a wide variety of artists, from the Flaming Lips to Nina Simone. He is also one third of the techno-pop group Figurine and one half of experimental synth outfit Sana Shenai, and hosts a weekly internet radio show on dublab.com called Dying Songs. It focuses primarily on the world of new underground electronic music.
